Hey guys,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my problem. A few days ago my laptop monitor died, and there is really nothing I can do about it. But that is not what I need help with. I have lots of data on the machine and I would like to retrieve it. The computer still starts up. its just I cannot see what's going on.

I would like to connect my monitor to my laptop so I can retrieve my data. Is there any way I can do this? How would I go about it?

Thank you in advance,

Colin

Guessing that you have a 1.33 GHz, and not a 2.33 GHz G4....
Your Powerbook came with an adapter to connect to any external display.
If you have a 12-inch model, then you have both a mini-DVI to DVI or VGA adapter. A 15 or 17-inch has a built-in DVI connector, just plug your display in that connector, or use the adapter that came with your PowerBook if your external display is VGA.
Even if you have an iBook - that also came with a mini-vga to VGA adapter.

AND, if you have misplaced your video adapters now, you can connect your laptop to another Mac through a FireWire cable, and boot this laptop to FireWire target mode by holding the letter T. The hard drive will mount on another Mac, and you can copy whatever files you need.
