Description:
My brother attached a MSWord-Mac document to his e-mail note. I downloaded it, but MacLink won't open it. Tried thru ClarisWorks & PageMaker. All result with "file not found" & "unable to find translater" messages. What's the trick to opening this alien file?

Try dropping the file on BBEdit Lite to open it. You can download BBEdit Lite from most mac shareware archives. Try www.shareware.com, www.download.com or www.tucows.com
You can also try dropping the file on SimpleText, but it often doesn't open large documents. BBEdit also has more file saving options.
You may also need to rebuild your desktop.
