Occasionally I will download a file and it will save only as quick time even if it says it's an mp3 file. When I try and drag it to itunes thinking it will convert, it will not and I am left with a file that I can't use.
Is there anyway around this??

Not sure about that. But I do have a suggestion.

Try downloading Audacity. Next time you get a file like this, import it into Audacity and then have Audacity export as MP3. Then you should be able to drag the file to iTunes, and force it to import. I use Audacity all the time, its a great little free audio editing program !

You can Google it and get the main page ....

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Another great place to find Mac software is Version Tracker

www.versiontracker.com

You can search via Keywords and find some great Macintosh programs and utilities. Alot of which are Shareware or Freeware ! Try heading there and doing a search for "Audio Edit"
