Hi and welcome to macosx.com

What do you mean by 'CPU killer'

A Windows-like task manager to kill unresponding processes ?
-> ActivityMonitor in Applications/Utilities does this job.

Regards
Philippe

I need a program that slows down your CPU. For windows it is called CPUkiller (www.cpukiller.com). I can't find a simular program for Mac so I posted the question here.

Why do I need it? I run a gamevertsing agency (www.redandivory.be) and we noticed that players can cheat with our games when they use CPU killers. Now we changed our games (www.mgopen.com) and I would like to do some tests on my mac.

thx for your answer.

I haven't used a new OS X laptop, but in the old G3 and prior power-books, there was a 'processor cycling' option, probably under energy saver, which slowed down the processor to save energy. It might be there still, or something like it.

Sorry, I've remembered; it isn't cycling, that's just for idle time, it should just say something like "reduce processor speed".
