TICKET ARCHIVE -> Creating a img or iso image

I open disk utility and high light the disk I want a image of. It makes a dmg, how do I get a img or a iso image? I also have a program called DVD Imager 1.2, should I use that.

Beside the commercial Toast (www.roxio.com) which can create ISO disc or image, I know this Terminal tip

I do not know about DVD Imager
