This relates to another problem that someone else posted:
Aaron,

I had a similar issue with a external drive of mine (firewire) but it was not Iomega. I spent a LOT of time trying to resolve this with utilties I had, but I ended up following the advice of someone and buying Disk Warrior. You can buy it on their site and download it right away. They will follow-up by sending you a bootable CD via mail. So, overall, it is a great value.

Anyhow, it fixed my unmountable drive in a matter of time it took to scan what was wrong. Make sure that you can see the drive listed in your "System Profiler" for your firewire bus. If you see the drive or at least the unit, then I think you will be a prime Disk Warrior candidate.

If you don't see the unit in your FW Bus, other issues may be at play. Let me know if that is the case, better yet, let me know either way what your results are.

I am having a similar problem, and I'm wondering if my system profiler FireWire Bus says "unknown device" if I'm a candidate for using Disk Warrior?

Thanks!

Yes, you are. As long as the bus knows there's a device there, DiskWarrior usually is able to rebuild the directory. It isn't a guarantee, though...

HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.
