TICKET ARCHIVE -> Default Application

I am a newcomer to Macs and technically challenged so please go easy on me.
I have downloaded windows media for Mac OS X. I want to open it up but I am told that there is "No default application specified to open document "Windows Media.sitx".
How do I go about setting up a default application for windows media player? Is it the same process for setting up a default application for all downloads that I want to open in the future?

You need Stuffit Expander to unstuff a .stix file. You can download that here;
