I'd love to get rid of some OSX apps and utilities that I know I'll never use - at least not anytime soon. Can I delete some of them without consequences? Do some depend on others?

Hi

You can delete any apps you don't want. You can always reinstall from the 10.4 disc if you find you need them.

I wouldn't trash Safari, it's framework is used for other stuff. If you have a list of apps you want to delete, let me know and I'll tell you if it's okay.

Sounds good. Safari is useful for some sites so I wouldn't want to trash it. Plus its a pretty good browser - not up to Opera for me, but very good. Here's a list of the useless stuff.

First off - is it possible to rid myself of the Dock? Once I used Command+Tab I can't imagine what one would use this thing for.

List of programs to be expunged:

Address Book
Chess
iCal
iChat
iSync
iTunes
Quicktime
Sherlock
Stickies
VoiceOver
Bluetooth file exchange
Migration Assistant

You can delete almost all those apps, but don't delete Quicktime, you'll have problems on some sites that use it.
