Hi,
Is there a way to totally disable the option to sleep when u logon to OS X 10.3
On the Login options menu , there was an option to Hide the Sleep, Restart and Shut Down buttons but it only hides the Restart and Shutdown,
How will i be able to disable the sleep option too upon startup.
Using PowerMac G5 with OS 10.3.9
Thanks,
Dan

Uncheck the Disable Sleep, Restart, etc in the Accounts PreferencePane, then quit the Prferences.
Open - user>library>preferences;
trash this file - com.apple.loginwindow.plist
Restart, then recheck the Disable Sleep, restart and see if it works. If not, open that com.apple.loginwindow.plist file with an editor and paste the text here for me. I don't have this system installed on a machine set that way.

Download BBEdit Lite (free) and open that preference file and past what it then says.

Bob,
I am beginning to think that there is no solution for this problem, the option for sleep on startup is still active.
thanks,
dan

Just came across this, don't know if you want to do it this way, and this works in 10.4, I don't know if it will work in 10.3.9.
In the Accounts PreferencePane, deselect show Sleep, Shutdown and Restart.
In the Login window, the buttons will no longer be there. But, if you want to Restart, Sleep or Shutdown, type that word in the Name Field and click Login.
You need to make sure the Accounts PreferencePane is set to have this Login in the Options.
