I have installed Mac Os X Server ( Leopard 10.5.2 Server) on a mac pro with 4 gb ram. I am also using this as my home computer. I am having an issue with the dock disappearing when the computer is idle. Have to use menu program to restart dock to get to it again. Or restart computer. I know there is a dock preference to show hide, it is not tagged. But it hides, it just doesnt show.
Any ideas.

You could try downloading TinkerTool for Leopard and you'll get better control over the dock. Go to
www.versiontracker.com to download.
Why are you running server on a machine you use regularly as a desktop machine?

Not interested in adding an additional program, to customize the dock, and finder, Im trying to fix the issue with leopard server that is causing it to disappear.

Well your first issue is running server op system on a non dedicated server.
Secondly, I suggested the app because it allows you to take control of the doc, thereby fixing your issue.
Anyway, I'll send you to someone else.
