TICKET ARCHIVE -> Distiller Settings Don't Work

They did work for a very long time. Now, pdfs to ps, and put through distiller come out bigger (!) instead of smaller. Pc distiller works fine. Why do my setting stop working on Mac OSx.4?

Need more info: What apps are you using to create your ps files? Have you reset your Distiller preferences? Those might get reset when you upgrade your OS…let me know.

I think we've figured it out. The original PDF was made by some app called ArtPro, which makes labels or something. In this case, the supplier used ArtPro to make a 400 page document. PC recognized it, but Mac didn't. Do you know why? I think InDesign also makes strange PDFs, compared to Acorbat PDFs which work no matter what.

Actually InDesign makes GREAT pdfs. You just have to export as PDF/X-1a and you're golden. In fact, if there are errors this format won't allow you to create a pdf so it's good in that way too.

What kind of images are you placing in your documents?
