Hi! Under Leopard 10.5.1 when running some applications (Numbers most recently) I want to keep the icon on the dock. I right click and select "Keep in Dock". But it does not stay, once I quit the app, the icon disappears from the dock.
FYI ... I have NOT added any dock enhancements. This is the stock Leopard dock. Also, I AM syncronizing dock items via .Mac sync between three Macs.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried just dragging "Numbers" to the "Dock"?

Yes I did! Dragging the icon to dock ... it stays in the dock for about 5 seconds then disappears! As I was trying out some other app icons, I tried it with iMovie, dropped the icon in in the middle some where and 2 seconds later it quickly slid over all the way to the right!! Very, very strange. I am not running these apps at the time i drag the app icon to the dock. The apps are running fine. I am not having any other issues on this machine. I did a "nuke and pave" (erase and install) installation of Leopard on this machine when I upgraded from Tiger.
Here's what I tried: Force quit and restarted Dock ... no change, then I removed the two preferences files "com.apple.dock.plist" and "com.apple.dock.db" .... guess what? No change, same problem.
By the way ... this is not manifesting itself with all apps. I have to try to see if there is a pattern as to WHICH apps are doing this.
Thanks again....

Well, your fix would have been my suggestion to you - since this usually works. If you want me to I can reopen the question.
