Hi
I upgraded from jaguar to tiger over the summer. I just recently wanted to use iPhoto and iMovie, but my iPhoto is corrupted and iMovie is non existent, altho the plug in files for some reason do exist. Confused!!!

iPhoto and iMovie are included in the original install CDs that came with your computer, however. I would reinstall those apps using the "Restore" function and let Software Update update them as needed. You may also want to delete their preference files.
HTH and please let us know what happens.

I'm afraid there was no joy with the restore disk. I tried doing the software restore but on the welcome screen of the installer was the following message
"Software Restore restores your computer’s original contents except Mac OS X. This includes the applications of Mac OS X and Classic support for Mac OS 9 applications that came with your computer. Software Restore does not restore Mac OS X, iPhoto, iTunes, iCal, iChat or iMovie. If you need to reinstall Mac OS X or these applications, use the Mac OS X installation discs that came with your computer."
The only original discs I have for my mac are the install and restore disk and the hardware test disk. As far as I know thats it. I kind of had this machine passed down to me from someoen incapable of taking care of cds, so im not expecting them to still have any other disks that came with it. I tried running the disc from the start up of the machine but all i could do there was install mac os x jaguar from scratch.

Sounds like you're stuck buying a System X disk. Apple is shipping 10.4.3, FYI as the System X disk.

I suppose I might as well get ilife instead then, as I can get stuff like Garageband too. Thanks for your help. Hopefully I can hunt down those cds.
