Description:
No Wonder,
My computer has 36 MB of RAM.
I downloaded a 4-H clover from a University of Wisconsin website and when I try to open it I get this message:
"The GIF translator could not read this file."
What does this mean and how can I open it?
Is it possible nothing downloaded? I opened Clarisworks and clicked on the clover icon but got the same message.
Thank you,
Chris Lutze

Chris,
what this means is that you don't have a program on your computer that will directly open a graphic file in the gif format.
In order to use the graphic in a program like ClarisWorks, it will need to be in a different format, like pict or tiff. There are shareware programs available for making this kind of conversion. The most popular one is GraphicConverter and can be downloaded from this page:

Be aware that most internet based images are 72 dpi or more clearly ppi(pixels per inch - a measure of the number of units per inch of the graphic and will print pixelated on most printers as a graphic should be more like 150 dpi for smooth printing.
If I can be of further assistance, don't hesitate to email me directly and thanks for using No Wonder!
