Description:
I recently upgraded from operating system 7.5.5. to MOS 8.1, and have since had a problem in retrieving downloaded attachments received from e-mail. Previously I had no problem. I use AOL for e-mail, access to the web, etc. Although I have not subscribed to Netscape, the program is loaded on my computer, and it had been used to retrieve and view downloaded pictures etc.
When I went to MOS 08.1, someone told me to choose Acrobat when the machine asked me to chose the system to retrieve and view downloaded items. However, when I did so, I get a window that tells me since the item I have selected did not start with "% PDF" it would not read it.
Now, when I select another item to view, it goes to Acrobat Reader, and tells me the same thing. I have no option to convert back to Netscape or something else that WILL work.
How in the world can I overcome this Acrobat Reader so I can chose something else, and not lose my entire library?
THANKS for your HELP!!!

Try opening the attached files from within your text editor (ie. SimpleText or BBEdit) or in your Word Processor. If they are image files, try opening them from an image editing or viewing application, such as Photoshop, JPEGView or GraphicConverter, or drop the image file on Netscape's Browser window (if it is a JPEG or GIF file).
Acrobat Reader is for PDF files.
