With the TV networks episodes that are online, you need to download a program called move media player. I have installed it on other macs, however, it will not install on mine. It says the installation finished with errors Check the installation log at /Users/lindseyr_87/Library/Logs/Move-Media-Player 07074032 Installer log for more details. I don't know what to do from here and I can't find any tips. ABCs tech e-mails didn't help. Also I couldn't install Windows Media Player from the Apple website. Is it my computer or is it something I am doing wrong? I have a MacBook Pro.

Windows Media Player for the Mac has been abandoned by Microsoft. A version that will work on Intel processors will not be released. Get Flip4Mac instead. That software allows you to view many types of WMV files directly in your Quicktime player.
Were the other Macs you loaded MMP also Intel Macs (such as your MacBook Pro)? Or older PPC Macs, such as G4, or G5 processors?

I just downloaded the Move Media Player plugin, That appears to be PPC code only. It might work by changing the plugin GetInfo window so it uses Rosetta. If you don't see that selection box in the Get Info window, you may have to contact support for Move Media Player, to see what support they offer for Intel Macs.

That's the problem! It depends on how the plug-in is coded.
Find the plug-in (should be in your user/Library/Internet Plugins folder)
Click on it once to select it, then choose Get Info from the File menu.
Under Kind, you should may see Plug-in (PowerPC). If you see Plug-in (Universal), or Plug-in (Intel) - then it should work without changing anything.
If Kind is Plug-in (PowerPC), check to see if there is a check box for rosetta - you may need to look in all the categories in that Info window.
If you can't find that setting, or it doesn't help, then I have no other suggestions for you, except that you are attempting something that is not currently supported on the newer Macs. You would need to contact support at that site, to see if they will be updating for the new Macs (which have been sold for nearly two years now....)

It does not appear in the internet plug-in folder. The macs I loaded it on were new macbooks, however they were running tiger. Could that make a difference. Should I contact apple tech support or try to find something to contact the move media player (which I have been unsuccessful in finding so far)? Thanks for your help.

As you are having problems with the installer, I have found that installer only copies the plugin into your plugins folder.

Lindsey, if you could give me your email address, I could send you the plug-in separately, which you can simply copy to your user/Library/Internet Plugins folder. Some people hesitate about doing this, so it's up to you.

My e-mail is lindseyr_87@yahoo.com Do I just paste it into the internet plug-in folder?

Here it comes....
Just drag it out of your Mail, and drag that file to the Internet Plug-ins folder.

it worked, but now it says Please wait a moment while an updated version of the player loads.

When it finishes loading, playback will start automatically.

Unfortunately, the player could not load at this time:
failed to run upgrade installer

. Please check your network connection and try again later.

Is it not the latest version? It works on abc.com but not cwtv.com

When I tried the cwtv, that one appears to be a PPC version, and not the universal version, so cwtv seems to have an incorrect download, and must be the source of your problems. Or, there's no other way I can think of to help you. If the various sites that use the same software have to battle each time you change back and forth, then the software doesn't seem to be too good, at least on the Mac.
Sorry I can't help you more. You'll have to persist with your search at the source sites, or just give up on them for now....
