TICKET ARCHIVE -> Drop Shadow in IL CS2

I crated drop shadow effects in IL CS2 using a pantone color, then saved my document and closed it.
When I later opened the document the pantone where no longer recognized.
How can I keep the pantone color drop shadow, what am not setting up correctly?
Please help.

I created a blank CS2 illustrator document. Deleted all the swatches then created the swatch I want. A pantone color. Created a box then choose stylize/drop shadow and assigned it the pantone color. Used Normal blending.
I saved the document and reopened. The drop shadow is still pantone.
