I recently bought you CompUSA branded 4-port DSL Router with USB Print Server, SKU# 316833.
I have one Windows PC and three Macs that I have
connected to the router. I would like all 4 computers to be able to use my Epson R310 printer that is now hooked up to the USB port of the DSL Router with USB
Print Server.
I have gotten the Windows PC to work already which was quite simple since the product came with a Windows Network Printer driver. My problem now is trying to get my Macs (running on OSX Tiger) to recognize the Epson printer.
Please assist me in getting my Macs to connect with the Epson printer with your DSL Router with USB Print Server.
Thank you so much for your time and prompt assistance to this matter.
Start by updating your OS X Gimp-Print (CUPS) drivers to the new version, now called Gutenprint-5.0.0-rc3:

For setup, since we don't have the auto-setup software for OS X, we have to read the router/print server manual carefully to see which protocol to use and to make sure we entr all the right info into Printer Setup Utility. I can't find an online manual, but the specs say it supports IPP. Crucial piece of info - IPP requires a queue name - this is usually hidden by the autosetup software. If you can't find that in the manual, go to the PC>printer properties>port>Configure port. The last thing listed in the printer URL/URI at the top is the queue name.
Hope this gets you started. Come back with questions.
