I would like to know how to duplicate a video DVD and have it play on a DVD player.
I do understand that this could theoretically be used for piracy, but that is not my intent. I would like the ability to travel with some DVDs and do not want to bring the original with me. That will undoubtedly lead to either loss or damage to one or more of my DVDs.
Thanks You for any help you can provide.

Applications on the Mac typically used to duplicate DVD to watchable format on iPod, iPhone or even on your computer, is an application called HandBrake. It uses compression to create files that take up significantly less space than if you duplicate the files directly, and that leads to the next application.

To make an exact duplicate DVD to DVD, you would use an application like MactheRipper, which allows you to extra the DVD files to your hard drive, then use an Application like Roxio Popcorn to generate a DVD duplicate.

We won't go into exact details, but that should get you going.
