I have an Imac G5 with the superdrive. I would be interested in knowing how to "copy" an existing DVD (I have archival community events on DVD that I'd like to distribute to family members). I tried burning a DVD and found it would only play on my computer, not on a regular DVD player. How does one burn a DVD so that it can be seen on tv? thanks very much!

Often times the issue is not so much the computer copying as it is the DVD player hooked up to your TV. It may not play the media you have. For example, my home unit will not play dual layer DVDs that I can burn with my iMac G5.

You can check out the compatibility of your DVD player at this site here:

You just enter your model number and you are all set.
