I have a G4 OSX and am trying to capture still shots from Apple DVD Player. I have tried DVD Capture 2.5, but I'm only getting a black blank screen from the shot of the DVD Player. I've also tried similiar software, such as Capture Me and Snap Clip, but again, only black blank shots return. I've tried connecting a dvd player, a portable one, to my computer, but nothing plays. Although, I have had success using a VCR.

Basically I want to be able to put in a DVD and extract still shots from it. These are my personal dvds of my work.

Thanks

Chrystal,
There are several programs out there that will allow you to "rip" the DVDs. That is, make Quicktime Movies from them. The one I use is MPEG Streamclip but there are several other ones out there. I haven't tried to simply capture a screen shot with any software but once you have it as a Quicktime movie, you can save any frame that you want.
The only other program that I might suggest you try for capturing just a frame is Snapz Pro but I don't know if this one would work either since the other ones you tried haven't worked.
DVD players and the Mac's DVD player are trying to not allow you to capture copyrighted material even if the material isn't copyrighted or it is your own material.

I hope that helps.
