TICKET ARCHIVE -> dvd drive region codes

hi... my region code has got locked to region 1 .. is there any free software which i can use to make it region free or go back to region 2?

That's a two-level question.
1) Software: the Apple DVD-Player keeps track of the regions. This is relaitively easily reset
2) Hardware: You are able to change region 5 times, then it's locked in the firmware on the DVD-drive. The only way to change this is to flush the firmware on the DVD-drive which is an operation fraught with danger.
