I have recently been rquested to edit and compress files for a website. The footage was sent to me on a formatted DVD. I have tried several ways to bring the VOB file from the video TS folder into Final Cut Pro but all my efforts have been in vain as I can get the video but cannot get the audio. I have Quicktime Pro 7, which plays the VOB file fine, audio included, and have tried various export settings from there but none will play the audio. The VOB file will preview in the preview windows with audio, but once in Final Cut, the audio dissappears. I need to get the video and matching audio into Final Cut Pro to edit it. How can I do this?

You can use Handbrake to rip the VOBs to a single movie file (somewhat limited in formats, H.264, Divx, MP4). From there you should be able to import it into FCP.
You could also try demuxing the VOBs into MPEG2 video and AC3 audio tracks, decoding the audio, then using the "Add Scaled" command in Quicktime to add the audio back to the video, then export it.
I don't think the VOBs would be encrypted, but if they are you can use MacTheRipper to decode them and then try importing them.
Let me know if you need any more details.
