I'm using Fetch. Somehow this program helps me to upload my pages. Now I need to edit a page I previously uploaded. I'm not sure how to do this. This is what I tried.

1. I opened Fetch and I got the window that has my uploaded files listed.

2. I highlighted one and clicked on Edit. I got a message that said "No image or text editor available. You can choose a text editor and an image editor in the Obscure Panel of the Fetch Preferences.

3. I went to that panel. I looked at the pull down menu for "Edit text files with" and the only option listed was "None." That was also the only option listed for "Edit images with."

Is there someone who would be willing to help me edit images with Fetch.

Thanks,
Ragnes

With fetch 3 or 4, download the file, change its name (delete the original on the server) and then reupload the file. If you have fetch 5 you can change the filename directly on the server:

Thanks for your prompt response. Unfortunately, I'm still not getting it. Is changing the name supposed to be the key to being able to edit a file? I tried that and it didn't seem to work. I don't what you mean when you say "change the file name directly on the server." Would you be willing to tell me how to do that? Does that mean I would change the name on the file in the Fetch Window or in the window that lists them online?
Thanks for your help.

To edit the contents of a file you must download it from the server via fetch. Edit that file in the appropriate program (Dreamweaver for html files; Photoshop for jpg and gif files). Then reupload that file and it will overwrite the old one on the server provided the name is still the same.

Your question was a bit confusing as I thought you just wanted to change file names on the ftp server.
