Hi and I hope you can be of help!

I recently copied all my music over from iTunes to my iPod classic. Now unfortunately I did not 'equalize' the volume so all the tracks are heard at the same volume level. I haven't got the collection backed up on iTunes due to recently clearing space on my computer/iTunes and want to know if I can copy my iPod collection back to iTunes to equalize then copy them back to the iPod again??

Thank you

Mark

Does it not help to enable the Sound Check setting on your iPod? Otherwise, I recommend using Senuti to transfer your music back.

Sorry about this Ben, but I have just done some online research on Senuti and the consensus is that it ain't very good! People seem to recommend iVolume more even though more time/input is required from the user. What do you think?

The functionalities of Senuti andiVolume are completely skew. I agree that iVolume looks to be the more advanced solution to equalizing volume compared to iTunes alone. However, it still appears to require that you get your songs back into iTunes, right? For that, there's Senuti.

The only intermediary possibility is that you manually manage your iPod in iTunes (which you already are, so you've been able to delete your music from iTunes and keep it on the iPod still), and then maybe iVolume will work with the song files on the iPod rather than those on the Mac.

Just a footnote to using Senuti to copy tracks back to iTunes. Once 'Transfer' has been clicked to move tracks across, I presume the feint bar in the bottom right corner is the progress bar as there is no clear indication of transferring going on and as I am moving across 500 tracks, I would have expected a few to start appearing in iTunes after a few hours which hasn't happened??
