I am having trouble connecting to the internet through my ethernet at my school. I have tried checking my network settings as well as my internet explorer settings and have not fixed the problem I suspect it has something to do with my proxy settings. Is there setting that can be activated that automatically detects your proxy settings? If not is there anything else you can think of that I can check? I was also wondering if dragging programs to the trash uninstalls them or if there is something more I need to do?

Your ethernet problems are probably caused by your school's security firewall. The best thing to do is to contact your network admin and have them instruct you.

Dragging an application to the trash and emptying the trash will get rid of the component you trashed but there may be some dregs left behind. Check out AppZapper at
