I had a QPS firewire burner who's power supply went out. I got a new supply and now iTunes won't recognize burner or software. I tried a new burner-Monsoon firewire-same deal. The burner IS recognized in apple system profiler, but the finder doesn't recognize discs when trying to burn data.

I would suggest you look up your drive here:

http://forums.xlr8yourmac.com/drived....drivedb.lasso

they keep fairly comprehensive list of which drives are recognized natively often time it is the firmware of the drive that is incompatible with mac's finder they offer some locations to find approrpiate one just beware that this will likely void a lot of warranty's if the flashing of the rom fails.

Only other alternative is to use Toast burning software from Roxio or another third party application though Toast is probably the one that covers most external drives.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. Toast does recognize the drive, but won't recognize blank cds. Do you think when my power supply went out, it could have damaged some hardware?
