TICKET ARCHIVE -> External Hd Dosent Show On Desctop

useing 10.4.1 on paworbook G4 did all the recommnded above {see dialogs 24+28/6 and didnt help... the firewire dos recognais as a40GB ex drive at the sistem profiler and it did work {not allways} on the 10.3.9 version expecting your replay

peter thanks for your qwik response .i did all the recomended on the link i am an electretion so i know my way around... as i noted the sistem dose recognise the drive on the sistem profiler so there is nothing wrong with the cabel or the conection i beleve it is some kind off recognition problem but i know nothing about computers if you have no more sogestions please tell me and i will seek another kind of help thank you for your help

What is the brand of your external drive? Maybe you need to update the firmware. To isolate the problem check if it works with another mac.
