hi, i have an intel imac and would like to run final cut pro on it, but i think it needs a video card that is not available to the imac.

i was wondering if final cut express would run on my intel imac?
does it have the right built in video card to support final cut express?

the online info does not specify imac or not, but i think it seems to say that express is ok.

can you confirm or deny this?

thanks

randy

Here are the system requirements for the latest version of FCE:
* A Mac computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, Intel Core 2 Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
o For AVCHD: A Mac computer with an Intel processor
* 1GB of RAM or more
* An AGP or PCI Express graphics card compatible with Quartz Extreme; or an Intel GMA integrated graphics processor in a MacBook or Mac mini computer
o Some FxPlug filters are not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors.
* A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher
* A DVD drive for installation
* Mac OS X v10.4.10 or later
* QuickTime 7.2 or later
* 500MB of disk space to install Final Cut Express and LiveType
* Additional 500MB to install LiveType content

All of these requirements are met if your computer matches the description in your profile.

thank you for your response.
i looked at the imac specs, and it says it has a ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO.

is that the same as an AGP or PCI Express graphics card compatible with Quartz Extreme or an Intel GMA integrated graphics processor?

thanks

iMacs, Power Macs and Macbook Pros have non-integrated graphics cards that will support every FCE feature.

MacBooks and Mac Minis have intel built-in graphics cards that only support some features.
