Can I change the default size of the icons in the sidebar of the Finder window (Desktop, Applications, Documents, etc)?

Not in the current version of the Finder. (I don't know whether this is a feature of Path Finder, a popular shareware Finder alternative.) The sidebar, like the Dock, reduces icon size as you add more items, but does not have an icon enlargement ability beyond the size when the fewest items are in the bar.
