Thank you for telling me about Flip4Mac WMV.
I now am able to open WMV files in Quick Time.
However, I have attempted to export the movie clips as .mov files, and come up with an error message, "failed".
Do I need conversion software to make these playable in iMovie 4.0.1 or am I missing something obviours?

You will need to upgrade to one of the paid versions of Flip4Mac.

http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_features.htm

The web page seems to say that conversion is not provided, and must be done with other software, but it is a little confusing to me, but you may find that what you want can be done with the $29 version (along with QuickTime Pro)

Thank you. I had a feeling that another application was needed.

Thanks
