I am wondering how I can force a game or application to run in a window. In Windows there was the "-window" command that could be added to the command line, however I'm a fairly new Mac user, and don't know if there is an equivalent option? The reason I want to do this, is some older games run at resolutions of 640x480 or 800x600, which, when used in fullscreen on an LCD display with a native resolution of 1440x900, look quite blurry. I checked out the forums for any information on this subject, with no luck. Thanks, Tom.

Hi Tom,

When setting the screen res to 640x480 or 600x800 do you also change the colors from millions to 256 and depth to 16 bits (as these are native to older games)? It makes the pixels rougher thus making them sharper. To my knowledge you cannot run the game in its own window, but I will double check this.

Hi, thanks for checking it out. The game was automatically switching my screen res, so yes, it was also changing the colour and bit depth to 256 and 16 respectively. I actually found the answer to my question though... I went to minimize the game (Starcraft), by pressing Apple+M, and instead of minimizing it, it actually turned it into a window! Apparently this is the same for all older Blizzard games, as I tried the same thing with Diablo II, and it worked. Weird, but I won't complain. Thanks for the help.

Tom.
