I just got a Mac Mini and am a PC user. I got the mac because I do not have DVD on my PC. I have DVDs made from a digital camcorder (Canon) There are single frames that I would like to make into
photos. Do I put the DVD in and save it somewhere
and freeze the frame and go to iphoto or what? I haven't a clue. My Mac mini is 1.25 ghz 512mb
combo. Could you walk me through it? do I need software and stuff? thanks. I emailed Tekserve help and they haven't answered in over a week and that is where I bought the Mac. They said what I
wanted it for was easy so I bought it.

One way to do it is to freeze the frame, then hold down the Shift Key and Command Key (the one to the right of Option) and push the numeral 3 OR the numeral 4. Clicking numeral 3 will take a picture of the entire screen while numeral 4 will let you draw a box around just what you want to take a picture of--in that case as soon as you finish drawing the box a snapshot will be taken This will normally be saved to your desktop.
You can't use iphoto because you can't import a DVD directly into iphoto. You would need to convert it to a DV format or other format, which you can do with Toast if you have it.

Thanks Bob.. I tried your suggestion but what I got was a message saying I had to quit DVD player before I could use grab or screen capture which doesn't let me use the paused
image. Catch 22. FYI my keyboard's command key is called START...Am I still doing something wrong?

Jerry, the one I found DID work was Snapz Pro X 2.0.2. I'd try that one first.
