I too am having a problem , albeit, intermittently, with shutting down. I either get a message that I must force quit or just a blue screen. None of this is constant. Sometimes everything works well. I have followed the discussions on the forum but do not have "Quickstartbackup" on my machine. After looking in the library startup folder, I found something I don't understand. There are two folders there. One folder is labeled RetroRun and contains two items, RetroRun, a Unixexecutable file of 1.3 MB and a StartupParameters plist file. The second folder contains three items, RetroRun, a Unexecutable file of 120KB; RetroRunHelper, a unixexecutable file of 40 KB, and another StartupParameters plist file. What are these and should I have two RetroRun files, especially one of 1.3MB? Might thhis have something to do with my shutdown problem. I have run disk utility repair and permission and DiskWarrior 3.0.3 to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
RetroRun is part of the Retrospect software that you have installed on your system.
The two folders are probably the result of upgrading your retrospect software. You may find that only one is needed. Looking at the dates of the files would probably help. The newer files would be the keeper. You could probably delete that older one. Do you check at the retrospect site for updates? You may find an update for better compatibility with Tiger...
Let me know how it goes.
