Is there a piece of software (or shareware) that allows me to make a gif animation and add audio to it. I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Hello Michel, welcome to No Wonder!
Although there are plenty of gif animation packages out there, none can add sound to the animations. This is because the gif format only supports visual data, so still images and animations are in, but audio tracks are out. However, if you really need audio in your animations, Quick Time is your best choice, in that is supports the widest range of formats.
There is a plethora of good gif animation tools out there (Web Painter, GifBuilder, Graphics Converter, et al), but I like GifBuilder the best, not only because it's free, because it has built in effects and a simple interface for putting together frames. It won't actually let you draw the frames in it (you'll need a drawing program for that), but it can put them together with it's nice built in effects.
QuickTime can be found on Apple's site at:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/
GifBuilder 0.5 can be found at most anywhere, including the MacAddict CDs:
http://www.shareware.com (search for it)
GraphicConverter can be found on the MacAddict CDs as well, and at:

http://www.shareware.com (search for it)
