First: I started noticing that when I used expoose it would lock up for a split second and large black boxes would appear when I attempted to switch between windows. (I very Microsoft looking problem)

Then: When I used Expose it would have what looked to be old images in the black boxes. I would have pictures from a web site that I had been on 1/2 an hour before!

Then:When I used expose what looked to be CGI type flames woul appear and the background would flip upside down. I can see the OSX menu bar upside down on the bottom of my screen.

Then: When I login after it being asleep or on screensaver it will flash what is on my desktop then let my type my password in then go back to a black screen and not let me login. Sometimes it will shut the computer down.

I could deal with the original block type problem but now it seems to be a widespread graphics card issue. I've thought about starting a new user and seeing if it is a software that I'm running that is causing the problem or reinstalling the OS to see if by some chance there is a flaw in the OS. I'm not necessarily asking if you can help me fix this (if you have an answer that would be great) but I'm more asking have you seen or heard about this before. I'm my research I can't find anyone with the same type problem.

The MacBook (not pro) uses an Intel video chipset and it shares the Main memory for video RAM and System RAM. You could try swapping your RAM chips or if you added a new chip try removing it.

You could try loading Windows via Boot Camp and see if the video card still misbehaves under Windows. If you've got an external firewire drive you could load a clean OS X install on the external disk and boot from the external disk to see if it still has a problem.

If that doesn't fix the problem, there is isn't much you can do about it short of calling Apple and getting it repaired. It's either the RAM in the laptop or something went wrong with the video chipset. Hope you have AppleCare or bought it within the last 90 days.
