Hi!

It all started when the monitor malfunctioned. I started Win95 and shut it down without doing the regular steps because I couldn't see anything on the monitor. When I replaced the monitor and Windows boot up, I got the exclamation symbol on followings under Hard Disk Controllers in the Device Manager window:
Primary IDE controller
Secondary IDE controller
Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller
I went their Resources in Properties and there is no conflicts.

Please help

Hi Joseph...Welcome to No Wonder!

One possible solution to this is go into Device Manager and select the IDE controllers and click the Remove button. Then reboot your computer. Windows should re-detect and setup your controllers for you.

Sometimes, for reasons only known to Win95, a device will appear to be in conflict and 'trick' Win95 into thinking that it actually is. By removing it and having Windows re-detect it, the problem usually fixes itself.

Let me know if you need more assistance with this.
