I am trying to make some more room on my disc drive and can't figure out what is taking up so much space. I have Gotten Info on both my Applications and My Home including all of my music, pictures, movies, etc. It only amound to 13 gigs of used storage. But my hard drive is telling me I only have 9 gigs left on a 40 gigabyte hard drive. I just don't see what could take up 15 gigs that easily!? I have been trying to look at other forums and such and found that I had different languages set for each program I had on my computer. I went through every computer and erased all of the unused languages but it still only amount to a couple of gigs. Any help would be much appreciated? Is there some kind of Disk Utility I am supposed to use? By the way, I have a G4 iBook laptop running Tiger.
You can use DeLocalizer or Macaroni to automate the process of removing language localizations.

Macaroni would also be a worthwhile investment (of only $9) because it runs the system maintenance routines that your computer isn't running on its own if you sleep or shutdown at night.
Check info on your System folder for its space taking and also look at the main Library folder above it. If you have iLife, the iDVD and GarageBand applications are taking up a lot of space. (iDVD's tutorial is big and GB's demo songs and loops take up space.)
Finally, in the Finder's Go menu, select Go to Folder and enter
/var/vm
This will bring up the system's virtual memory storage area. Get info on this folder, too. Then, get back to me.
