Problem: Hardware
Computer Type: Apple
Model: 7200/75
RAM: 48meg
RAM Enhancer: Virtual Memory
OS Version: System 7.5.3

Description:
I have a 7200/75 that does not have video input & output plugs in the back of the hardware. I know for a fact that the 7600 PowerPC does. I want to buy Adobe Premiere for video editing. Do I have to buy an upgrade of my 7200/75 just for this or is there additional (external, maybe) hardware that I can use to plug in my 8mm camcorder to my Mac with in order to download video images to my Mac?

Does this make sense?
Thanks

Maya,

Thanks for turning to No Wonder with your question. There are a number of third-party options that will allow you to do video editing on your 7200. Unless you're planning on doing professional, broadcast quality video editing, the product I would recommend is the ATI XClaim VR . It's a card that installs into one of the open PCI slots on your Power Mac 7200. Not only does it give you the ability to download video from your camcorder or VCR but it also offers great 2D and 3D acceleration for desktop graphics and gaming. In fact, it even gives you the ability to plug your TV into your Mac so you can use it for presentations or for playing games on the big screen. Street price for the XClaim VR is around $229 but you may be able to find it cheaper at a superstore or through one of the mail order catalogs. If you have any further questions about this or any other Mac issue please don't hesitate to contact us at No Wonder.

Thanks,
Jim
