My original G4 Quicksilver 800 Dual is FAILING! I've installed a new HD and currently have the old one running in an external casing as I desperately try to retrieve the little things. Is there anyway I can copy my Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop programs over to the new drive without installing them from disk? They were grandfathered in from OS 9, and upgraded 2-3 times each to bring them up to OS 10. I don't think I can install the original OS 9 disks on Tiger.
THANKS!!!

Hi Lindsay,
Good chance copying the programs over will work. Why not just copy the entire contents of the failing drive? Then you'll have it all, and if there are bitse and pieces you need you'll be able to retrieve them later.

That makes me nervous. The advantage is that I am starting clean now.
I just want to specifially grab Photoshop and Illustrator. I know there are plists involved, but is there anywhere else I need to go?

I'm not suggesting you run your new install from the old System or Library folder; just that you back stuff up, one way or another, so if you're missing something later you can retrieve it. I'd back up or at least check through the Library folder especially, under Application Support and other likely places (Documentation?) to see if there's anything you need there.
