KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: Intermediate

PROBLEM: Hardware
COMPUTER TYPE: Fujitsu 400
MODEL: notebook Pentium 120
RAM: 16meg
OS VERSION: Windows 98
SERVICE PACK: Don't understand

DESCRIPTION:

Hello; Scandisk just advised me that my hardrive will crash soon. The number of bad clusters just increased from 1 to 20ish.

My question is: Is this something that I can do the labor on myself. I have added a card and changed the cpu on my desktop before are examples of my skill level. I would also like to double my ram. Are notebooks soldered to boards or are these plug ins?

Thanks for your assistance.

Changing components on a notebook is 100X tougher than changing components on a desktop computer. I would advise taking your computer to a computer store and asking them to change the hard drive for you.
