Hi folks,

I need to install Mac OS X Tiger on a Powermac w/o a DVD-ROM-Drive.

How can I copy the install files to a external HD or on several CD-Rs?

I'm stuck. THIS IS URGENT!!!

Many, Many thanks in advance

Hi Andreas

Two ways you can do this;

1-You can contact Apple for the exchange program to get Tiger on CD's;

http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade

2-You can connect two machines if both ahve Firewire, in Firewire Target Disk Mode and install Tiger that way, from the machine with the DVD drive.

You can't copy files off the DVD or make copies to CD's, won't work.

Thanks for your fast reply, Bobw!

I already tried "Firewire Target Mode" but the Target-Mac won't mount.

I'm using a PB G4 17" with TIGER as host - a Powermac G4, 700 MHz (build 2002) as target.

This is definately not my day
