I have an iMac running OS X leopard. I have both Firefox an Safari running on my system. I constantly use Yahoo search and Google searches. The problem is that I am getting redirected to places that are not what i am looking for. For example, If I tried to look up Golf clubs when i scroll down and click on the PING site or any site for that matter, I am redirected to landing/click-farm page. None of these page have anything to do with the products that i am looking for. This happens with any subject that i type into the search engines and on both of the search engines that i am using.

The computer that i am using at the office works perfectly. It must be something that has invaded my computer. Can you help me?

Thanks!

Hello Chris

thanks for choosing macosx.com and I will try to assist you

first and best thing download the free DNSChanger Removal tool from the MacScan site here http://www.dnschanger.com/ - that should remove the offending trojan if you have it...

Also it won't hurt to use OnyX or Cocktail, YASU, Xupport (or any other such tool that allows the cleaning of caches, running Cron etc) and run a full battery of housecleaning in particular pay attention to cleaning/removing internet caches and cookies.

Alos if you don't have it get ClamXav free here http://www.clamxav.com/ and set up the Folder Sentry feature to watch your downloads - not an essential tool but worth the cost (it doesn't self update - you need to click on the update virus defs every so often)

See what happens after that.
