Hello--
I am brand-new to Keynote 2. I am trying to make a pyramid graph or chart, like the old USDA food pyramid, with data inside the pyramid separated by horizontal lines. Just like a pie graph, except it's a pyramid graph!
Anyway, I don't see any options for a pyramid graph in the chart inspector. I see that I can insert a triangle shape and type data into it, but I can't figure out how to separate the data with lines. Can someone guide me through this step by step? Thanks!

I think the only way to make the pyramid graph that you are describing is to draw it in a drawing program. It's not a standard type. MS Excel has a large collection of charts, and one called pyramid, which uses pyramids as the shape to denote different items on a graph, but the graph is a standard 3-D rectilinear shape.
If you can come up with a program that will create one automatically, you may be able to import that as a graphic into Keynote.
In Keynote, You can put lines on the triangle from the Insert menu. Just grab the end to swing around, or lengthen. Doesn't look too hard to make a chart the way you want.
Hope this helps

Thank you for your prompt reply, Dale. I am glad to know I wasn't missing something in the program. Curious, but Microsoft's Power Point has the ability to do this. I thought Mac programs are usually equal or better than Microsoft in ability. Go figure! Thanks again for your help!

I think we are on different thoughts.
PowerPoint does indeed have something called a pyramid chart, but it does not resemble what you initially described here. I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. If that variation on a standard chart is what you need, then great! You can also create your powerpoint, and import that file into Keynote. Some imports work with no difference at all. Others need a lot of work to view properly in Keynote
Good Luck!

Dale,
I have a PDF file and JPEG picture of what I'm trying to do. Can I email them to you so you can see what I'm talking about? I can't figure out how to put them into this message.
