MIME is not a program; it's an acronym for
Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions. I need you to tell me the context of your need or the rest of the message where you say "MIME" so I can help you determine what application you're actually seeking.

Hi Ben,
I need it for to access a program from a work site that is created a data base. It is a airline site. When I try to load it...my mac tells me that I need a mime program to view it. Thanks.

I still need more information than that. Can you link me to the place where you're trying to access the file?, or is that private information? Does your Mac say only "You need a mime program to view this file," or is the message different. I doubt a Mac would use the word "program" at all. Please quote the exact message.

Hi Ben,
Here is the exact quotation:
Safari cannot find the internet plug-in.
The page "Hostfront-ActiveX Display" has content of MIME type "application/x-oleobject". Because you don't have a plug-in stalled for this MIME tupe, this content can't be displayed.
Thanks.

This is Windows Media content. You need
Flip4Mac Windows Media Components for QuickTime, the current iteration of Windows Media Player on the Mac.

That application does have a MIME type but does not work with my website (I down loaded it and installed). I believe I need the old Internet Explorer which is not in production any more. Do you have any ideas about a way to get internet explorer? Thanks.

I'm thinking IE won't help without Windows Media Player, too, but you can
download IE and let me know how it goes. (I take it you, or a previous owner of your PowerBook, didn't hold onto the copy of IE that came installed originally.)
