I tried to import a video I record on DVD disc with Liteonoit DVD recorder model LV-5006 to my Mac iDVD but after selecting import and choosing the DVD drive I found that instead of having the video name iDVD dysplay two folders with several files, selecting any off them didn't really import my video, so I tried iMovie same result except iMovie wouldn't accept any of the files.
Can anyone tell me how can I import a video record on a DVD disc.
DVD Player does play the video without problems.

You can't import directly from a Video DVD, as the formats are different. In your folders you probably have some .VOB files and such, which are fine for your DVD player to read, but you can't really do anything with them other than play them through DVD player.

You need a 3rd party utility,
http://www.dvdxdv.com/DVDxDV.try.htm

they have a free trial, and it may be enough to get the info off of the dvd you want. Once they are in iMove, they can be edited and/or transferred to iDvd.

Let me know if it helped! Thanks
