I am setting up a Apple Remote Desktop system and can easily see only one computer on the network, but not the others...if I am in the local network, no problem....they all show up so

I need to know how to get to the other computers... thank you for your help!

Hi Marc,

Can you tell me a bit more about the setup of the Macs/Network and Linksys router?

The way you explained it, it sounds to me that you have opened the ARD TCP and UDP ports on the Linksys in order to access the Macs via ARD. Is this correct?

If so, the Linksys probably uses port forwarding (or something similar). In most cases this means the router opens a TCP/UDP port on the WAN-side and re-routes (forwards) the same port to a single IP address on the LAN-side. If this is the case it's going to be quite hard to get it configured for all the machines, because the Linksys (probably) cannot forward the same port number multiple times to different IP addresses.

Do you have a Mac OS X Server running on your network (preferably Mac OS X 10.3 or higher), or does your Linksys has VPN (PPTP/L2TP/IKE) capabilities? If this is the case, it would be better to setup a VPN comnnection to your Mac OS X Server or your Linksys. This way you can "remotely" use and rome the whole network and its resources.

Please give me some more info concerning your setup and I'll try to help you solve this. Please keep me informed.

Mac OS X, because it was easier to make UNIX user-friendly then to fix windows......
