I acquired an HP ScanJet 5200c and cannot seem to find drivers for it. While, being a Mac owner, this comes as no surprise what seems most strange is that w/in the sys profile.app it registers perfectly. Unfortunately, trying to use any app or programs w/ scanning functionality results in the program telling me there is no scanning device connected. It's drivin' me crazy!

What frustrates me the most is HP's terrible site and their elusive link to contact them - i.e. it's either burried deep w/in their site or is simply a figment created by them to console their own guilt over their minute capacity to offer consumers "real" assistance/help. ARGH!

The scanner was given to me for free and works super on my PC, but I'd like to use it as my dedicated MAC scanner. Do I need to look at pitching it for one that works w/ MAC, or is there anyway to get it to work.

TIA,
Corey

As you have found out, HP does not support the 5200c with drivers or any other software for Mac.

Have you tried launching Image Capture when the scanner is plugged in to your Mac? Some scanners are supported there with no other software needed for basic scanning.

OR, Vuescan does support your 5200c
