I have read everything I have been able to find about removing idisk but to no avail. I can't turn off auto sync because everything is grayed out in the pref panel. I can't remove it off my desktop. The mirror agent appears to be creating internet and e-mail hangup problems. This just started today and is creating major problems. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi Joe,
http://www.apple.com/support/dotmac/idisk/#form
Above is a link at the Apple site for iDisk Technical Support. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says:
"Still Need Help" and fill out the form.
While I was researching for your post I came across a moderator post that indicates that Apple was having some problems with iDisk and that they are working on it.
When you say "creating internet and e-mail hangup problems"... can you please be more specific?
Hopefully this will work out... I am sorry you're having problems with iDisk. I've had my .mac a/c for 2 years and have had few complications but that doesn't mean it's perfect.
Post back and let me know how it's going.
Carolyn :-)

Thank for getting back to me so quickly Carolyn!
I hople Apple takes care of it's iDisk problem quickly!!!
The "hangups" I refer to is the colored ball waiting for something to happen. I ahve to quick airport on my laptop, unplug my ethernet cable or do a hard restart to get back to work.
Hoepfully today Apple doesn't turn rotten again

HI Joe,
One thing to do when your Mac acts kinda buggy... even iDisk. Is to run Disk Utility. You can find it in: MacintoshHD>Applications>Utilities
Double click on Disk Utlities. The window will open. Selec the "Macintosh HD> in the box on the left. Then click Repair Permissions. This can fix a lot of little things that cause "hang ups"... that revolving beach ball can be frustrating.
When you say "quick airport"... Do you mean Airport Express? If so, make sure your configurations are correct in that preference pane also.
Try iDish again... let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the legwork Carolyn. I did the utility run. I even used Tech Tool Pro. I believe the problem was idisk or isync was trying to update my systems. I think this because Internet and e-mail were the only things that got "hung up". My remedy was to unplug the Ethernet cable and re-insert or turn off airport and turn it back on. The commands I did that were hung up finally happened. the good news is that things FINALLY appear to be back to normal.
BTW, I mean quit airport. I should have used to Check Spelling option. Sorry.
Thanks again for your replies!!!

HI Joe,
Success at last! And you did it yourself. That improves self-confidence in repairing pesky problems on your Mac for sure. I actually do summersaults when I fix something and get it right :-)
So unplugging the Ethernet cable and tweaking Airport did the trick. I will remember this as a suggestion in the future.
Thanks Joe!
Carolyn :-)
