I have a G4 gigabit with osx tiger. I am having problems transferring files from one mac to another. I can't even load my quicktime movies onto Youtube or Myspace. I've been using a flash drive to try to transfer these files, but they only seem to play on my computer. I can burn a dvd but that is it. I'd like to share my short films with friends and family that are out of town and I've hit a brick wall. Please help. I could quote Star Wars right now, but how many other people do the same thing? Maybe this will help.......I Love you!!!!!!????? Does that do anything for you?!?

Please help,
Fred

Hi Fred,

It's one thing to try to share a file and a completely different thing to try to collaborate on a project. What actually are you transferring to your flash drive? Is it the iMovie project file or the exported .mov file? The project file is simply a reference for the application; when you double-click on the project file, iMovie knows that's what you want to edit. The .mov file, on the other hand, is a fully contained video file that you can transfer and re-encode into a different file format.

Here's what you do: after you're done editing your project, go to File-->Export-->Quicktime Movie. From there you can choose export options. There's also a Share option in iMovie that lets the application convert the file into Web format.

Thanks,
Vishad
